Salerno is about 40 kilometres far from Positano and 10 more from Sorrento.
Step by step, here are all the places of interest of your tour of Amalfi Coast: Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Erchie, Maiori, Minori, Atrani, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Ravello, Scala, Praiano, Positano.

Vietri sul Mare
(5 km far from Salerno)

Vietri sul mare view
If you stay at Grand Hotel Salerno, it takes only few minutes to reach the Amalfi Coast (by train, bus or car): our hotel is about 5 kilometres far from the nice sea village of Vietri sul Mare, the first village of the Amalfi Coast.
The dome of St. John Baptist’s Church, with its beautiful majolica, is a hearty welcome to all the tourists that come here to visit the “Divine Coast”.
Vietri is famous all over the world for artistic ceramics: it is worth going shopping for one of the precious handworks on display or for a nice souvenir to give as a gift to your friends.

Cetara
(10 km far from Salerno)

Cetara’s marina
Few bends after Vietri sul Mare there is Cetara, a quiet sea village that keeps intact the charm of old times. Here the passion for fishing revives every year, in August, with the Tuna Festival, an unforgettable appointment for all the expert fishermen of Cetara.
There is a popular beach down at the end of the town, but stopping along the coast road you can reach a wonderful creek with a public beach or with facilities only by going down some steps.
By bus, it takes about 20 minutes to reach Cetara from Salerno; by car the journey is faster.

Erchie
(12 km far from Salerno)

Erchie’s beach is wider than the one of Cetara and the seawater is as clear as that of Cetara.

This village is cosy and very picturesque: it’s the ideal place where spending a day at the seaside in complete relax.

Maiori
(20 km far from Salerno)

The Coast from Atrani to Maiori
Maiori is a lively sea village thanks to the many young people that crowd the long sandy and pebbly beach and meet, late into the evening, at restaurants and café overlooking the seafront. In high season, it’s no easy task relaxing under the sun, especially in the weekends: if you look for peace and quiet, you’d better make do with other solutions. Anyway, Maiori offers many interesting places to visit: for example, San Nicola de Thoro-Plano Castle, the collegiate church of Santa Maria a Mare and Santa Maria de Olearia Abbey.
A special event takes place every Whit Monday, when many worshippers go on Mount Mirteto, to Avvocata Church, to pay homage to the Virgin with the typical rite of tammurriata.

Minori
(22 km far from Salerno)

Minori’s alleys
Minori is Maiori’s little sister. It has a personality and charm of its own that can be seen in the peaceful atmosphere that you can breathe along the streets and in the many churches of this cosy sea village.
In addition to Santa Trofimena Basilica, the Villa Marittima Romana, the Our Lady of the Annunciation Campanile and the Ariciconfraternita del SS. Sacramento are worth visiting.

Atrani
(24 km far from Salerno)

Amalfi (25 km far from Salerno)
Amalfi is a place that will leave you breathless from the first sight: sun kissed for most of the year, this small town framed by mountains softly slopes down to the blue seawaters.

Ravello
(29 km far from Salerno)

Scala
(30 km far from Salerno)

Conca dei Marini
(30 km far from Salerno)

Furore (33 km far from Salerno)

LMarina di Praia’s beach is a haven of peace full of beauties of nature: situated between two rock faces, you can enter there by the main road (it’s easy to park your car here) or by sea.
In Praiano you can find Cala della Gavitella, which is the only place in the Amalfi Coast where the sun doesn’t set behind the mountains: thanks to its western exposure, with view of Capri, Positano and Li Galli Island, on this beach it’s possible to get tanned until nightfall.

Positano
(45 km far from Salerno)
